Las Moradas de San Martín Senda 2017

Madrid, SpainThe picking came three weeks early in 2017 at Pago de los Castillejos on the Madrid side of the Sierra de Gredos. The vineyards sit at 870 meters on mountain granitic soil with a sandy-loam texture. Winemaker Isabel Galindo uses organic and biodynamic practices to obtain high quality dry farmed bush vine grapes, faultless acidity, and outstanding balance. The ferment is natural, followed by ten months of ageing in French oak barrels of varying sizes and ages. This special garnacha walks the pure fruit, lively aromatic line but has all the attributes of powerful mountain wine underneath. The combination ideally yields impressive black plums, Bing cherries, and mineral dust. Established in 1999, Las Moradas de San Martín came into being to resuscitate garnacha vineyards cultivated since the 12th century.Tasted: 20 October 2022Tasted by: Prices:
