Falletto di Bruno Giacosa Barbaresco Asili Riserva Red Label 2007

Piedmont, ItalyFrom the cellar. Bruno Giacosa has been producing some of the most sought after wines out of Piedmont since 1961. The Red Label Reserva isn't produced every year, only when the winery deems a vineyard and wine worthy. All the other wines of the vintage are released under the white label. Thus, when you are lucky enough to find a Giacosa Red Label, scoop. In 2007, it was decided that the Barbaresco Asili was red label worthy. Sultry and intoxicating from first whiff, this stuns with its perfumed dried roses, dried cherry, dried tea leaves, old tobacco leaves woven throughout the textural, medium palate, now showing evident signs of age, but still vibrancy and life within and throughout the lingering, haunting finish. All nebbs' tannins are fully resolved, and in harmony. An incredible bottle to enjoy over an evening. 10,548 bottles were produced. Current vintage (2016) is $750 / bottle in Ontario.Tasted: 29 August 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
