Canalicchio di Sopra Brunello di Montalcino 2017

Tuscany, ItalyFrancesco Ripaccioli is the third generation, along with his brother and sister, taking care of these lands. Francesco took over the winemaking from his father, overseeing the 19 vineyards across 2 cru, including their estate vineyards on the famed Montosoli Hill. Candle wax, ripe cherries, worked leather, cedar shavings lead this full, fleshy Brunello, braced with ample firm tannins, tightened with cranberry acidity, and studded with mineral salts through a smouldering, smoky finish. Stately as ever, even in the challenging 2017 vintage.Tasted: 28 August 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
