Barone Ricasoli Chianti Classico Riserva Rocca Guicciarda 2018

Tuscany, ItalyRocca Guicciarda is a DOCG Chianti Classico Riserva that mixes 90/5/5 sangiovese, merlot, and canaiolo. It is also an old name that Ricasoli used for its most prestigious estate. Still, today it is a blend of sites that lie on the five most representative soils in Brolio: sandstone, galestro, alberese, marine deposits of sandy deposits and clay at deeper levels and ancient fluvial terrace 0f silty deposits with clay. The winemaking, while attentive, is unremarkable. The wine spends 18 months in tonneau and large casks and a further three to six months in the bottle. Look for a richer, deeper, earthier style of Chianti with dark plum with a robust, savoury underside. A gastronomic release that begs for mushrooms in risotto, pasta, or even a favourite duck dish. Baron Francesco Ricasoli is the 32nd generation family member to live on the property carrying on the dream and the vision that his ancestor first began 875 years ago.Tasted: 12 August 2022Tasted by: Prices:
