Barone Ricasoli Brolio Chianti Classico Riserva 2019

Siena, Tuscany, ItalyBaron Francesco Ricasoli is the 32nd generation family member to live on these Tuscan lands and care for the ancient Brolio castle. Francesco is carrying on the dream and on with the vision that his ancestor first began 875 years ago. This Riserva is entirely sangiovese off predominantly stony soils on the estate, between 300-400m. After a stainless ferment, this rested 18 months in new and 2nd use tonneaux. Sultry and stony dark espresso, black plum, wild blackberry move through this textural, savoury, bigger red, with ample limestone acidity to loft any heft, and carefully managed, dusky and structural tannins holding all intact. Lots of layers and interest here, drinking smartly now (think grilled beef / lamb) but will hold in your cellar.Tasted: 20 August 2022Tasted by: Prices:
