Talenti Rosso di Montalcino 2020

Montalcino, Siena, Tuscany, ItalyRosso di Montalcino is supposed to be soft, round, and ready to drink, so this wine gets full points from the first taste. The floral violet nose leads to a medium coloured sangiovese with licorice, cherries, plums and an apparent mineral undertow. A light baking spice is an inset in the dense, soft grained tannins that keep it all together. You can age this five to seven years or drink it now with a mushroom, beef, and pasta dish. It is made from sangiovese from different vineyards located on Montalcino's southeast/west side, at altitudes varying from 250 to 400 m, and aged for a few months in French/Slavonian oak barrels and bottles before release.
