Moon Curser Contraband Syrah 2020

Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaMoon Curser's Contraband Syrah is grown in a magical west-facing hillside block of the Bartsch Vineyard on the Osoyoos East Bench, nicknamed The Hill. Add the 2020 vintage to the mix, and this wine reaches for the stars. The unforgettable season allowed for excellent flavour development and a balanced accumulation of sugars and acidity. The grapes were hand picked at 24.6 Brix and went to the fermenters as whole berries. The new oak total sits at one-third, seemingly plenty for this variety. This wine is all about intensity, concentration, and pureness of flavours. Blueberry jam is a sure sign of syrah nirvana. Dense, rich, powerful, and sophisticated, this wine has it all and it's a bright and long future. Once again, it is sold out at the winery, so you may have to call in some favours to smuggle a bottle. Or join Moon Curser's wine club.Tasted: 17 July 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
