Donatella Cinelli Colombini Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2016

Montalcino, Siena, Tuscany, ItalyFrom Montalcino's organic Casato Prime Donne vineyard, this was fermented over 2 weeks followed by a long maceration in small conical cement vats. It then aged in large barrels and 5-7hl oak tonneaux prior to bottling, without filtration. Very elegant and polished, with layers of worn wood, worked leather, smoked stone, dried cherry, tea leaves, candle wax, and forest floor. Tannins are ample, but well-situated to frame this special wine for the years ahead. Certainly cellar-worthy. 10,500 bottles produced.Tasted: 16 June 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
