Maçanita Gouveio da Joaninha 2021

Baixo Corgo, Douro Valley, Northern Portugal, PortugalThis wine is a special project of Joana Maçanita. This is an extreme gouveio, from north facing high altitude (700m) vineyards in Poiares, in Baixo Corgo. This was whole bunch pressed in stainless horizontal tanks (no bâtonnage, no MLF), where it remained for 6 months. Fresh and racy, with wild lemon, lemon pith, meadow grass on a lean, green-edged palate, buzzing with schistous intent. This is most certainly an oyster wine. Very smart, new wave Douro.Tasted: 13 May 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
