Haywire Secrest Mountain Vineyards Gamay 2020
Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis new single vineyard gamay release focuses on their estate Secrest Mountain Vineyard, just above Oliver, and on calcium carbonate laced soils. Destemmed fruit was native fermented in concrete tanks and stainless over 4 weeks on skins, prior to aging in concrete, puncheons, and amphorae for 10 months. Darker shaded than their Haywire 2019 Gamay (which incorporates some Secrest Mountain fruit), this leads with sultry spiced plums, black cherry, fleshy raspberry scented with sarsaparilla, and is studded with flake salts.
