Chateau Daviaud Bordeaux 2019

Bordeaux, FranceAt the start of 2020, the Sichel Family took control of Château Daviaud, a neighbouring property it well knew as one of their longtime growers. With the Château up for sale, the family didn't want to lose the connection to the vines and land through new owners. This Bordeaux blends 45% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Franc, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 15% Malbec from the property's limestone / gravelled hillsides. This was entirely fermented and aged in stainless, ensuring drinking now. The soils and stainless treatment have kept this tight and brisk, with perfumed plum, wild blackberry around a tight, buzzy core. Tannins are slight and grippy, taking this to a snappy, saline finish. There's a lovely, effortless freshness here, making this one for drinking now, with steak salad.Tasted: 27 May 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
