Adega Ponte de Lima Solos de Xisto 2021

Vinho Verde, Northern Portugal, PortugalPonte de Lima is the oldest town in Portugal, and home to this co-op, founded in 1959. It now has 2000 growers, and an 11.5M L production. This Loureiro, uniquely, is grown on schist, a rare soil type for the granite-dominated Vinho Verde appellation. It was vinified in stainless to preserve the fresh fruit. Loureiro's full florality is on display here, with fragrant honeysuckle, lime blossom, pith, and peel, white peach, and apricot. The palate has a lightly waxy sheen, and bright acidity, with a buzzy mineral base. Lots of concentration here for 11.5%, and a lovely new lens for loureiro.Tasted: 27 May 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
