Yellow Tail Pure Bright Chardonnay 2021

South Eastern Australia, AustraliaThe first thing I notice about this new bottling from Yellow Tail is the calorie count. At 110 calories per glass, it clocks in at 25% fewer calories than the regular Yellow Tail Chardonnay. I suppose that's supposed to be a positive, but it just makes me quite suss. At only 9.5% alcohol, this dealcoholized wine has removed RS, as well as booze. It makes me question what else they're doctoring with this wine, appellated Australia. Ripe and forward, with a distinct wooded note that sticks out on a shorter palate. Pineapple juice, ripe melon, and vanilla bop around on the palate, finishing briefly. I'm confused; what is Bright and Pure about this wine? If you're counting calories, I reckon you're much better skipping that extra cookie and having a properly pure glass of Oz Chard.Tasted: 08 April 2022Tasted by: Prices:
