Wente Vineyards Southern Hills Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Livermore, San Francisco Bay, California, United StatesThis cabernet takes its name from the vineyards that lie along the southern hills of the Livermore Valley. It's made with two clones originally planted by pioneer Charles Wetmore from 19th century Bordeaux cuttings. The family has been farming the land and making wine in the Livermore Valley since 1883. It's generally aromatic, offering cedar, tobacco, and smoke along with pleasantly ripe blackberry and black plum. Dry and firm but hardly rustic, it is a refreshing style of California cabernet perfect for grilled sausages or beef tacos.Tasted: 11 April 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
