Hoyanko Paraje Vina Marisa 2017

SpainThis old bush vine garnacha (planted 1945) comes from a single plot in El Hoyo de Pinares (Ávila), at an altitude of 1000m, on granite. It was destemmed and native fermented with 7 days maceration before heading to old 300L French barrels 1 year. It was bottled without fining or filtration. This is bottle 694 of 775. Dried strawberry, ripe wild raspberry, baked plum, fragrant wildflowers bed up alongside a worked leather base, with a finely grippy granitic base providing a textural undercurrent. Tannins are plump and sticky, hugging this to a peppery finish. Feeling its mountainous sunshine, this deserves a light chill and partnering with something to tackle its 15% (think pork).Tasted: 30 April 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
