Argento Single Vineyard Finca Altamira Malbec 2019

Paraje Altamira, Valle de Uco, Tunuyán, Central Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaThis organic malbec comes from Argento’s Finca Altamira estate in the Uco Valley at 1090m, and off rocky calcareous soils. After a stainless maceration and ferment, this rested in a 75% mix in 5000L french oak foudres, with the remainder in concrete eggs for 10 months. Mouthfilling wild cherry, wild blackberry, sweet pipe tobacco, and stony savoury notes rule the fresh, fuller red, with long, fine and grippy tannins hugging the juicy palate to the spiced finish. Bright and vibrant, this is a joy for a bigger red. Take now with roasted pork.Tasted: 10 April 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
