Nanny Goat Vineyard Pinot Noir 2018

Central Otago, South Island, New ZealandThis pinot sources fruit from two vineyard sites in the Pisa subregion and one in Bannockburn, and a mix of clones, and soils range. Destemmed fruit was partially native fermented, with 3% whole bunches, and 3-4 weeks on skins prior to pressing and barrelling down into 225L French barriques (18% new) for 8 months. Softer, mouthfilling and plush, with cherry, ripe raspberry, baked rhubarb, brown baking spices tightened with a brace of tart cranberry acidity. Tannins are long and firm, pinching this at the snappy, spiced finish. Equal parts tart, and soft, this would be best cracked with salmon or mushroom burgers now.Tasted: 13 March 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
