Nanny Goat Vineyard Pinot Noir 2018
Central Otago, South Island, New ZealandThis pinot sources fruit from two vineyard sites in the Pisa subregion and one in Bannockburn, and a mix of clones, and soils range. Destemmed fruit was partially native fermented, with 3% whole bunches, and 3-4 weeks on skins prior to pressing and barrelling down into 225L French barriques (18% new) for 8 months. Softer, mouthfilling and plush, with cherry, ripe raspberry, baked rhubarb, brown baking spices tightened with a brace of tart cranberry acidity. Tannins are long and firm, pinching this at the snappy, spiced finish.
