Lawson's Dry Hills Gewurztraminer 2019

Marlborough, South Island, New ZealandWith fruit primarily off their estate's Home Block, supplemented by their neighbour's vineyard a few hundred metres down the road, this gew includes vines from 15-40 years old, growing on heavy clay soils. It was picked over multiple days, adding layers of ripeness and complexity, and was partially native fermented in a mix of stainless and older French wood, where it spent a few months on lees. A dryer, restrained style, with lime pith, pink grapefruit, perfumed lychee, lillies, and soap ruling the gentle palate. The 6 g/L RS gives a soft cushioning to the medium bodied wine, finishing with a subtle dusting of ginger. Chill well and enjoy this polished gew now.Tasted: 13 March 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
