Framingham Classic Riesling 2021

Marlborough, South Island, New ZealandFrom Marlborough's Conders Bend subregion, and 20-40 year old vines rooted in the stony old river bed on silt and greywacke rocks, this was whole bunch pressed, primarily fermented in stainless, with 3% of the blend seeing skin contact and aging in acacia. All parts were aged on full ferment lees without S02 for 5 months prior to blending and bottling. As per the house style, this is a lip-smacking, streamlined riesling, with ample limey acidity offsetting the 20 g/L RS. Ripe white peach, ripe pear, yellow apple, talc is shaped with river stones and juicy lime pulp and peel, streaking along the palate to a pithy finish. Lovely concentration on the medium- palate, and easily likability welcoming glass after glass (ideally with fragrant Thai or Vietnamese).Tasted: 13 March 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
