AustraliaThis shiraz comes from De Bortoli's estate Freemans Bridge Vineyard, in the ancient red Cambrian soils of Northern Heathcote. Destemmed grapes are fermented for 8-9 days in their Potter fermenters, then pressed off skins and blended. Ripe and full, with smoked black fruit, grilled meats, espresso, tobacco, and ferrous notes, this is wrapped with peppery, polished tannins, and finishes with a hearty dash of baking spices. One to crack now with grilled BBQ fare.
