Château Pesquié Terrasses Blanc 2021

Ventoux, Southern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceTension and freshness are the white wine goals at Pesquié, and 2021 delivers in spades. Fresh, bright citrus and white flower draws you toward the glass. The blend is a 40/20/20/20 mix of viognier, grenache blanc, roussanne, and clairette, all farmed biodynamically since 2015 and fermented in stainless steel. Post ferment, it is blended and aged in concrete and stainless steel vats on lees. Pure peach, lime with exotic tropical fruit fill out the palate, and the chalky wet stone finish is dusted in the garrigue. Terrasses appears on the Chaudiere family's three signature labels: the red, white. and rosé blends. It honours the work done by their ancestors, carving terraces into the Pyrenees hillsides around the winery. The spare limestone soils, once deeply immersed below sea level, supply the perfect medium for growing grapes in the relatively cool climate setting of Mont Ventoux.Tasted: 16 March 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
