Spy Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2021

Marlborough, South Island, New ZealandSpy Valley is a family-owned 400-acre winery that sits on the sunny southern side of Marlborough's Wairau Valley. This reliable white comes off a mix of well-drained, alluvial, stony silt loams in Waihopai Valley, mid-Wairau Valley, and the Lower Wairau Valley. The fruit is picked early in the morning, processed in small batches, and fermented primarily stainless steel. Several blocks are designated to be fermented in a barrel before they are all blended. 2021 suffered an early frost, so fewer bunches and smaller bunches easily ripen in what was otherwise a good vintage. Much crisper than last year, with floral, grapefruit, white peach, intense passionfruit, sweet lime, and nectarine with a mineral finish.
