Pewsey Vale Single Vineyard Estate Riesling 2020
Eden Valley, South Australia, AustraliaAt 540 metres, the contoured, windswept Pewsey Vale vineyard is a worthy icon site of Eden, and Australia, originally established in 1847 (!). 2019 was a very dry year, meaning this 2020 had low crops and high intensity. Done entirely in stainless to preserve the purity of fruit, this streams lime pith and peel, green apple, lemon verbena, across a taut palate. The sides are licked with a cool stony rasp, helping to carve this through the lingering subtle saline finish.
