Croft Quinta da Roeda Vintage Port 2018

Douro Valley, Northern Portugal, PortugalOne of the original founding Port houses, Croft traces its origins to 1588 when the company was established in England by Henry Thompson, a member of the Merchants Company of York. The Croft family, which joined the partnership in 1736 gave the firm its present name. In 2001, Croft became part of The Fladgate Partnership. From the historic terraces at Quinta da Roêda, in Pinhão, this opens with chalky, dusty cassis, sugarplum, anise, sweet balsamic, with darts of wintermint across a fresh, brisk palate. Tannins are grippy and long, well integrated with the fruit and spirit, taking this to a spirited finish.Tasted: 04 December 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
