Oyster Bay Pinot Noir 2019

Marlborough, South Island, New ZealandFrom sites across Marlborough, this pinot is predominantly Dijon clones (777, 667, 115 and Abel), destemmed and fermented in stainless, with a small amount run off to finish ferment in French barriques. The wine rested in a mix of tank and barriques for 11 months prior to bottling. Quite earthy and rubbery up front, with roasted meat and roasted root veg, dark florals, tart blackcurrant, and milk chocolate swirling on the spiced, smoky palate. Tannins are blocky, siding this to a warming finish. A pinot that wants to be a cabernet, take this now with grilled burgers.Tasted: 03 November 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
