Faustino I Rioja Gran Reserva 2009

Rioja Alavesa, Rioja, SpainThe Faustino Gran Reserva is a tempranillo, graciano, mazuelo blend. The nose is old style, a touch dirty mixed with some oxidation and leather notes. It is an intensely flavoured leather/mahogany oil affair on the palate with smooth slippery tannins and a long, warm, spicy, cinnamon finish. It could be a shock to the system of New World wine drinkers who drink a lot of young wine, but my advice is to give it some air and taste it over the evening and explore the style to the fullest.Tasted: 18 October 2021Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
