Domaine de la Luolle Les Oiseaux Rares Bourgogne Côte Chalonnaise 2018

Burgundy, FranceThis Bourgogne Côte Chalonnaise comes off Olivier and Sandrine Dovergne's estate's 8 hectares of organic vines. 80% of these 45 year old pinot noir vines are rooted in clay-limestone, while the remainder sit on clay-silt. This was partially destemmed, native fermented over 3 weeks in wood, before it ages in French barrels (15-20% new). The limestone lit soils brightens this slight wine, lifting wild raspberry, tart cherry, crunchy plum along a svelte, stony palate, tightened on the sides with fine, grippy tannins. The finish charms with subtle florals, and ample white peppery spices. Lovely now with a slight chill.Tasted: 31 October 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
