Assuli Lorlando Nero d'Avola 2018

Sicily, ItalyFrom northwestern Sicily's Mazara del Vallo, this Nero d'Avola grows on stony soils around 100-150m. After a month of maceration / fermentation in stainless, this remained there to rest for 3 months followed by 3 months more in bottle prior to release. This opens with a puff of reduction, before moving into ripe, sticky raspberry, cherry, red currant, scrubby rosemary that fills a medium bodied palate, finishing with a raft of medicinal spicing and a swell of warmth. Acidity is moderate, though salinity is ample, encourage drinking now with herbed pork chops.Tasted: 21 October 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
