Barone di Valforte Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2019

Abruzzo, ItalyThe Sorricchio family has owned the baronial fief of Valforte since the 13th Century and the Tenute Barone di Valforte vineyards cover 42 hectares in various communes in the Teramo hills, a prized place for montepulciano. This was vinified in stainless before ten months in French oak. Smoked wood, roasted meats and root veg rule the shorter palate, with tart blackcurrant acidity, and blocky tannins dusted with dark cocoa. Quite rustic, this requires a hearty beef / root veg stew.Tasted: 09 September 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
