Alexana Terroir Series Pinot Noir 2018

Dundee Hills, Willamette Valley, Oregon, United StatesThough named Terroir Series, this is a Willamette-wide blend of various soils and clones. This is a selection of barrels from the dry-farmed younger blocks of the Revana vineyard in Dundee Hills, along with vineyards in Yamhill-Carlton, Eola-Amity, Chehalem Mountains, and McMinnville, and clones Pommard, 115, 777, Wadenswil, 667, La Tache, 943, 114, 828, Coury, and 113. Each lot is separately native fermented whole berry before aging 11 months in French oak (23% new). Quite fragrant, with perfumed black cherries, blackberry, forrest berries, and a light dusting of pepper. Tannins are long and firm, with a slight grip. Drinking very well now.Tasted: 23 September 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
