Orofino Home Vineyard Wild Ferment Old Vines Riesling 2019

Cawston, Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Home Vineyard 21B riesling clone that makes up this Old Vines Wild Ferment Riesling is now 30 years old, rooted in the sandy, loamy gravels of the Similkameen Valley. The berries are all destemmed and cool fermented on native yeast in old French barrels plus another 12 months in bottle before release Pretty impressive for the price. I was fans of this last year, but this year seems even more vibrant. Look for pear, green apple, and nectarine skin, with a fine, mineral, wet stone aspect in the finish. Throw in some Similkameen sagebrush and perfect balance, and you have a terrific bottle of riesling.Tasted: 14 June 2021Tasted by: Prices:
