Olivier Leflaive Bourgogne Aligoté 2017

Burgundy, FranceOlivier Leflaive is one of Burgundy’s respected wine négoces, offering wines of excellent quality from village appellations and cru vineyards across the Côte d’Or. The house makes all wines in house at their winery in Puligny-Montrachet, and maintains close relationships with their growers. The grapes for this Bourgogne Aligoté are sourced from plots located in Puligny and Corpeau. It was matured for 10 months (20% in stainless, 80% in oak barrels) before release. A gentle wave of reduction is well worn into the wine by this time, absorbed by lemon, green apple, river stones running a lees-decked, medium bodied palate. A dusting of toast lingers on the finish, along with studs of crystallized lemon. Quite a polished and smart aligoté, and apparently age worthy, with a Diam10 cork.Tasted: 01 August 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
