Da Silva Legado Pinot Noir 2018

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaAfter 36 months, three barrels of the 2018 vintage sourced from Blenheim Hill and the Marchand's Lazy Dog Vineyards were selected to make up the 2018 Legado. Coming in at a reasonable 13.3 percent alcohol, this mix of Naramata Bench and Penticton West Bench pinot is the pride of growers Richard and Twylla da Silva. It was grown over the clay, silt and loam, fermented in half ton open top fermenters, aged 24 months in 50 percent medium + toasted French oak and 50% medium+ toast Hungarian oak. The style is old school, not fruit-forward but rather earthy and more forest floor with dry firm red fruits mixed with dried mushrooms and earth. Not for everyone, but worth the journey.Tasted: 18 August 2021Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
