Casa di Baal Aglianico di Baal 2016

Campania, ItalyThis organic and biodynamically farmed Aglianico is rooted in the Salernitan Hills’ sandy clay soils. It was native fermented before resting twelve months in medium sized oak barrels, and then at least twelve months in the bottle prior to release. Pouring an inky dark hue, this full red teems with crushed violets, wild blackberry, thorns, fragrant black plums, and dark cherries, all threaded with an alluring anise note, and bedded with river stones. Tannins are firm, structuring this fresh, bigger red through a lingering, spiced finish. A lot of intensity for 13.5%.Tasted: 10 August 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
