Cawston, Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrom Cawston's sandy loams and clay, and a vineyard in transition to organics, this was whole cluster pressed and native fermented in 1000L cask and stainless barrels, with full MLF, and 7 months' rest, with periodic bâtonnage. It was bottled without filtration. Slick pear, gooseberry, green hedge, lemon verbena, white pepper rule this streamlined, early-pick, dry and edgy viognier. This is more about acid / green flavours than the grape's inherent lush florality.
