Kühling-Gillot Grauer Burgunder Réserve 2019

Rheinhessen, GermanyKühling-Gillot is located in the municipality of Bodenheim, Rheinhessen, and the Kühling family has been farming and making wine for more than 200 years. Until Roland Gillot married into the family in 1970, it was always run by women. Since 2006, the winery has been run by Carolin Spanier-Gillot and her husband H.O. Spanier. Their 23 hectares of vines have been cultivated biodynamically since 2005. This pinot gris was from 20-50 year old vines rooted in limestone-loess soils, fermented in large wood, and then transferred to 900L Tonneau for a few months prior to bottling. This dry, energetic gris carries perfumed pear, lemon blossom, quince, yellow apple, all lit with a limestone buzz that lingers on the saline finish.Tasted: 20 July 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
