Fitzpatrick The Elusive Pinot Noir 2019

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrom the southern blocks of Greata Ranch where Fitzpatrick is based, south of Peachland, this pinot noir was partially fermented with whole clusters and aged with sparing use of new oak. It's quite an extracted style, with the dark fruit to match. It's led by black cherry, with flecks of spice and stemmy herbs, but it's rather foursquare at the moment, and could benefit from another couple of years in bottle, which will also help to soften the surprisingly firm, gritty tannins. Best with gamey burgers if you're going to enjoy in the short term.Tasted: 29 June 2021Tasted by: Prices:
