Bella Wines Buddha's Blend Rosé 2020

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaB2, Buddha's Blend, was a 2017 experiment that worked so well it has continued. Unlike all of Jay's other fizz, this blends two grapes: chardonnay and gamay. Jay scooped suitable lees from his various single-vineyard pressings around the Okanagan and Similkameen, and combined them into one tank to native ferment, topping up as they were racking all their single lot wines. After five months on lees following secondary ferment, this was bottled with zero dosage. The 2020 vintage was approximately 50/50 chardonnay / pinot noir. Frisky and bright, with crunchy red currant, tayberry, green apple, plum blossom on a bone dry palate. Lovely balance of chardy and gamay here.Tasted: 04 July 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
