East Kelowna, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaSperitz, a modestly effervescent wine, is a blend of perle of csaba, chardonnay, and bacchus, all grown biodynamically on the newly minted sub-G.I. East Kelowna Slopes. The grapes are harvested separately before coming together in the bottle to finish the ferment to dryness, leaving an innocuous sediment layer in the bottom of the bottle. This Pét-Nat style is rife with grapefruit pith streaked with a mineral, dusty stone note in the back. East Kelowna, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe current Speritz, though there is no mention anywhere on the label, is from 2021 vintage, and a blend of Perle of Csaba, Chardonnay, and Bacchus, from their biodynamic East Kelowna Slopes vineyards. Each grape was harvested separately, with the following grapes blended in and continuing the ferment in the bottle until all was left at dryness, with 1.5 atm (the gentle wee spritz) and a harmless sediment layer in the bottom of the bottle. Lemon pith, lime blossom, crab apple, pear skin, Palmolive dish soap is bedded on dusty stones, and finishes brief and snappy. East Kelowna, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaMuch like previous years, this is an idiosyncratic biodynamic pét-nat of white grapes planted on Ann Sperling's family estate. This year's, however blends the usual Perle of Csaba with Chardonnay, and Bacchus, all native fermented. Lightly effervescent, with sour melon, sour apple, pear blossoms, on a very natural, heavily sedimented, lightly astringent, bone dry palate.
