Soléna Grand Cuvée Pinot Noir 2018

Willamette Valley, Oregon, United StatesAfter successful careers in the Oregon wine industry, the husband and wife team of Laurent Montalieu and Danielle Andrus Montalieu purchased an 80-acre estate in Yamhill to commemorate their marriage, releasing their first vintage of Soléna in 2002. Since, they have purchased vineyards in Yamhill-Carlton and McMinnville AVAs. This blends different estate vineyards, and sees 9 months aging in French oak. Toasted cedar, black cherry, forest floor, light smoke flood the softer palate, one framed by ample sticky tannins to a wood-lined finish. Somewhat rustic at this stage, this would be best met with grilled root veg or pork.Tasted: 03 June 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
