Schiopetto Ribolla Gialla 2019

Friuli-Venezia Giulia, ItalyThe Schiopetto family has been active in Collio for three generations, making wines as Schiopetto in 1965 when Mario Schiopetto rented a property in the hills of Capriva del Friuli. His first vineyards were planted in 1954 with friulano, and it was from these grapes that Mario produced the first single variety wine in the region. From the hilly marly soils across the region, this Ribolla was fermented cool and aged in stainless, where it remained on fine lees for 5 months. Pear blossoms and Anjou pear, freesia, mirabelle plum, almond float along a bright, lightly oily palate, with a fine, stony texture around the edges, and a dusting of white pepper. Very harmonious and drinking well now.Tasted: 23 June 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
