Portlandia Vintners Pinot Noir 2019

Willamette Valley, Oregon, United StatesPortlandia's Damien Davis came from a hospitality family and background, and wanted to produce everyday delicious drinking wines, at sub $20 (Oregon pricing). He predominantly sources fruit from South Valley growers for his range, though this included 15% from McMinnville, and 83% from 3 vineyards in and around Dallas and Monmouth, and classic Willamette soils: jory, sedimentary, and loess. After ferment in open-top vats, this aged 10 months in French oak (10% new). Soft and friendly, with plush cherry, raspberry, perfumed sarsaparilla, on a lightly spiced, medium bodied palate. Tannins are supple and finely grippy, hugging this likeable pinot to the spiced finish. Drinking smartly now, as intended, for everyday enjoyment.Tasted: 09 June 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
