Peak Cellars Goldie White 2020

Lake Country, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe name has changed, but the wine is the same. The fruit comes off two estate sites: Goldie Road Vineyard and Block 26, both of which are planted to field blends of pinot gris, riesling, and gewürztraminer. Everything is picked at once and cofermented. The blend can vary from year to year, depending on the growing season, but the vineyard ratio is 46% pinot gris, 38% riesling, and 16% gewürztraminer. Like last year the result is very encouraging, with a little bit of lightning or electricity in the bottle. The old-school field blend has an enticing nose of orchard blossoms, pears, and Granny Smith apples that spill onto the almost dry palate, finishing with a mineral, saline, peppery note. Impressive and very food-friendly. Take your pick from clams and mussels to burritos and Asian food.Tasted: 15 June 2021Tasted by: Prices:
