Languedoc, Sud de France, FranceThis wine comes from a small appellation in Languedoc, but 100% mourvèdre is illegal there, thus, the winery declassified it to "Vin de France“ and hid its origin. Destemmed grapes were macerated and fermented in stainless for 3 weeks, and kept there for a brief time before bottling in late winter. Smouldering plum, wild blackberry, perfumed blueberry is scented with scrubby rosemary and thorns, finishing with a wash of salinity and dusting of pepper. Tannins are sticky, but well-absorbed into the medium plus, fleshy body. Drinking well now, especially with grilled sausages.Tasted: 23 June 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
