Hidden Bench Estate Chardonnay Beamsville Bench 2018

Beamsville Bench, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, CanadaHidden Bench is one of Canada's preeminent chardonnay producers, and their Estate Chardonnay encapsulates their organically farmed Beamsville Bench estate. This takes fruit from the limestone laced soils of their Locust Lane, Felseck, and Rosomel Vineyards, all whole bunch pressed and cold settled for 24 hours prior to a native ferment in barrel (and 4% in concrete egg), with biweekly bâtonnage and full MLF. 15% of the French barrels were new. The wine remained on lees for 9 months prior to a barrel selection and bottling. The bright lemon led fruit is bedded with a fine cream / herbal lees base, studded with river stone and humming with a limestone buzz. Tangerine zest lingers on the lengthy finish. Lovely balance and texture in this harmonious wine, drinking beautifully now, and with years ahead in the cellar.Tasted: 01 June 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
