2house Chardonnay 2018

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, Canada2house is a collaboration of Valeria Tait and Ian Sutherland. These owners and winemakers will work separately and together to make a handful of small lot wines they could never make commercially in their previous winemaking lives. I know the pair, and they come from a place and view that knows what the world of chardonnay is doing, and they are determined to compete at that level with Okanagan wines. The project is to be highly focused on only two wines from two winemakers per vintage. Age has its privileges, not that they are all that old. All the fruit will come off single vineyards owned by the Gill brothers, owners of Gold Hill Winery. The first 2House Chardonnay is something special. It is amazing what can be done when serious wine folks are free from the trappings of retailers and a market that is less focused on quality than price. I love this fresh, skinny, vibrant nutty, reductive, electric chardonnay that is the future of Okanagan greatness. You will have to join the club to buy this but you won’t be disappointed if you are in love with the best Next World Chardonnay coming out of the old New World.Tasted: 26 June 2021Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
