Valle del Maipo, Region del Valle Central, ChileFrom the Coastal area of Maipo Valley, near the Maipo River and rooted in granitic clays and loam, this cabernet sauvignon is aided by 10% carmenere, and 5% petit verdot. After a stainless ferment, this remains on skins for an additional 10 days before 80% is moved to French oak barrels for 8 -10 months' aging. Ripe and dense with herbal branchiness seasoning ripe black cherry, blackcurrant, anise, menthol along an intense, heady palate, finishing with a wash of marine salts. Tannins are plumped and soft, taking this to a bitter espresso finish. Best with char-grilled meats, as intended.Tasted: 20 May 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
