Ursa Major Only Memories Remain Riesling 2020

Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaUrsa Major is the passion project of Rajen Toor, who was born and grew up in his family's vineyard. The project began as a conversion to organic growing, sustainable cellar practices and the open mind to experiment and play with the grapes his family had been growing for 25 years. From Josey's Vineyard on the Naramata Bench, this riesling was destemmed, foot stomped, and left overnight before basket pressing into stainless for a 45-day native ferment. It was then racked into neutral puncheon for three months before bottling. Juicy and lime-driven, with pulp and peel and pith all at the fore, joined by fragrant lemon blossoms, crunchy green pear, and a slight slick of residual sugar to balance the acidity. Impressive youthful wine, and if you can get your hands on a bottle (they sell out near immediately), do. The closure is is Nomacork Select Green made from raw sugar cane materials. It has a neutral carbon footprint and is recyclable.Tasted: 28 May 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
