Vinho Verde, Northern Portugal, PortugalIn 1985, Antonio Edwards Monteiro founded the family-owned winery in Alentejo. In 2012, he expanded into Vinho Verde with the purchase of 200 hectares. This alvarinho comes from the Minto, and after some skin contact, was fermented cool, and aged in steel for a few months with weekly bâtonnage. Peach-forward, with yellow apple, lime peel and pith and steely pear on a slick, medium-bodied palate, with a fine raspy, granitic grip on the finish.
