Vinho Verde, Northern Portugal, PortugalQuinta da Raza Avesso is a single variety avesso Vinho Verde, fermented in stainless steel, and it's given four months of lees contact before it is bottled and sent to market. It presents with a full palate of grassy/hay/citrus with more pear and a touch of almonds in the back end. It is reasonably complex, reflecting its site and granitic soils. Try this with steamed shellfish dishes or fresh asparagus recipes. Well-balanced at 13.5 percent and only 2.5 percent residual sugar.
